Powder Riding Tips 1
12th August, 2011
Usually you would have to be right on your game to find yourself at the top of a run like the one shown on yesterdays blog but in Japan at one of the "Hakuba Secret Ski Areas" also mentioned in the blogs you might find your self riding powder snow all day!! So here is the first of a few tips for all you that have never even seen powder.
First of all dont be afraid of getting some speed up, you will need it to stay upright when you turn and if you need to stop quickly just fall over, you will stop very quickly. Dont worry if something goes wrong and you fall hard, its like landing in feathers! If you fall unintentionally try to roll over somersault style back onto your feet as it will save you a lot of energy trying to stand up again....I've seen people take well over 10 minutes trying to get back to their feet in deep snow!!!
