Snow Guns in Hakuba

In bed in my accommodation I can hear the snow guns going...it's the first night this season that I've heard them. Seems funny in a place that averages 10m per year snowfall that they have guns going. Japan is a country of extremes though, the Spring comes quick and it is very warm, well into the teens, by early April and the guns just add that extra base to the powder so the resorts can stay open till May. This of course means sensational Spring conditions of T-shirts and shorts weather with great snow!!!
